Women in the morning: Aline Weber

You see them in your magazines and on your tv screens, but what are your favorite models really like? For the second in her series, Women in the Morning, Casey Brooks catches up with the always alluring Aline Weber for a bit of private time shared with her boyfriend Matheus Strapasson. Aline’s laid back beauty and hippie chic vibe shine through in Brooks’ simple, evocative imagery.

Summertime…when the livin’ is supposed to be easy, or at least when it’s supposed to feel that way, albeit temporarily. When the days are long, the nights are made for bonfire parties and our minds set sail for the shore with eyes set on beaches, breakers and (of course) bikinis.
No self-respecting beach-bound cooler should ever be empty until the sunrise dawns on the terrible day after your most non-terrible beach party. And so it’s my job to offer up a list of wines that 1) taste great when chilled and 2) play well with, well, summer play.
Coming up with a list of white wines for the former is easy, but when it comes to the latter, what we really need is context. Because it doesn’t do you a bit of good pouring a white wine that will put your bikini-clad partygoers in a bad mood because it doesn’t match up with their complex, delicate, inner-goddess countenances. In other words, you’d better not pour the ladies something they’re likely not to like.
And so it’s with maximizing your party’s potential in mind that we take a look at four of the feminine personalities that might be gracing your summertime beach festivities and match the wines to them. Each recommendation below will run you less than $15 per bottle, so you can stock a cooler without having to sell any stock.

THE GIRL:  Cute, Fun-Loving Coworker Who Digs Sports
Her Usual Drink:  “Lite” beer
Pairs Best With:  Vinho Verde from Portugal

The Portuguese didn’t invent refreshing white wine for under $10 a bottle, but they’ve damn-near perfected it. Hailing from that country’s green, wet northwest, white Vinho Verde is simple, vibrant and like citrus fruits channeled into a laser weapon. It’s got lower alcohol and often comes with a bit of spritz, making it the perfect gateway drug into fine wine for the beer-drinking lovelies at your summer shindig. The introductory offerings from Portuguese producers Aveleda and Casa de Vila Verde are hard to beat.

THE GIRL: The Party Girl You Met Last Weekend
Her Usual Drink:  Moscato
Pairs Best With: Off-dry Riesling

There’s nothing wrong with the grapey, fun and often-bubbly Moscato d’Asti, but like any product suffering from unplanned spikes in popularity, growing production doesn’t always go hand in hand with growing quality. In fact, the results can sometimes taste more like Moscato d’Nasti. Satisfy her candy craving with something you both can drink — a lime-and-flowers Riesling with a bit of residual sugar. Riesling’s strong acidity, mineral undertones and relatively low alcohol wield a touch of sweetness the same way that Conan the Barbarian wields a broadsword to slice through evil hordes: effortlessly. Dr. Loosen’s Dr. L Riesling from Germanyis as solid and refreshing as they come, with only a hint of sugar. Sweeter tastes will want to go for something like Christobel’s Eden Valley Riesling from Australian producer Yalumba.

THE GIRL:  Your Hot, Flirtatious Cougar Neighbor
Her Usual Drink:  Big, buttery Chardonnay. As in, only ever  big, buttery Chardonnay
Pairs Best With: Torrontes from Argentina
The bloom might have come off the rose when it comes to overly ripe, overly oaked, overly creamy Chardonnay, and so the time is overly ripe to try a bait-and-switch on even the staunchest of Big Chardonnay drinkers. Those who otherwise might not even try another Chardonnay that was given a lighter winemaking touch can still dig on Argentina’s Torrontes, which delivers most of the tropical fruits of Big Chardonnay, a little bit of the alcoholic fat, but little-to-none of the wood — and all with the added benefit of intense floral notes. Try the offerings by Tilia or Callia Alta, and she might not know it wasn’t actually Chardonnay until the first glass is already empty.

One of the most brilliant and original games ever was almost an afterthought. Developers weren't sure what to do with Portal, a mind-bending puzzle game that lasted only a few hours, and eventually lumped it in as bonus content with the best-selling Half-Life series, where it became a cult classic. In Portal 2 (360, PC, PS3), the sequel and first full-length game, main character Chell returns to Aperture Laboratories to face off against GLaDOS, a hilariously twisted artificial-intelligence system that delights in challenging her to escape chambers loaded with lasers, fans and other hazards. Chell's only weapons are a gun capable of creating a portal between any two flat surfaces and surface-altering paint that allows her to bounce off watts and run faster. The gameplay is genius, forcing you to think dimensionally to find a way out of each puzzling chamber. The new co-op mode allows players to work together as a pair of robotic characters as GLaDOS attempts to turn them against one another. It's part WALL-E, part brainteaser and possibly the game of the year.

Justin Bieber has made it clear once again: he's not a little kid anymore. The singer, who opened up about his beliefs on sex with Rolling Stone this month, covers the latest issue of Rolla Coaster and reiterates that his new CD was recorded with an older demographic in mind.
"I’m getting older and I want that to reflect in my album," he tells the publication. "It is just more mature and reflecting the age that I am."
Despite his massive success, Bieber also says he's constantly striving higher.
"Each time I break a record I’m always happy. With my YouTube stuff, "Baby" has more views than any video – ever. So my next goal is to reach one billion views on a video."
One billion?!? We'd scoff. But if anyone can accomplish that feat, it's the artist yanking at his shirt collar above.

Did they or didn't they? That's the question concerning Rihanna and Chris Brown this week.Days after the latter singer's rep shot down reports of this former couple reuniting on a yacht in St. Tropez, an insider tells Us Weekly that the pair DID, indeed, get together. As Twitter photos have depicted, Rihanna and friends have been shopping and sunning in St. Tropez for awhile now and this source tells the tabloid she "changed her plans" last Friday night after hearing Brown was on his way to the area. She allegedly called her ex from a satellite phone and arranged to meet him on his ridiculous mode of transportation: a yacht with a submarine, pool and two helicopter landings, which Brown is renting (for $400,000/week) along with Swizz Beatz and Ludacris for a music video shoot.
"Rihanna went and partied hard with the guys on their yacht," the mole claims.
Brown's current squeeze, Karrueche Tran, was also on board the vehicle, according to this source, and may not even have been aware that Rihanna was around. We'd doubt the validity of that report, but did you read the description of the yacht?!?

For years, Holly Madison yearned to have a baby with boyfriend Hugh Hefner. But it never happened, likely because he's 129 years old.So now the former Playboy model is taking it upon herself to start a family: she's making plans to adopt!
"I really want to be a mommy," Madison tells In Touch, adding that the process with adoption mentoring service Hold My Hand is underway and she hopes to secure a child from Africa or South Korea.
Madison has mostly been out of the news since leaving the Playboy Mansion, although she did appear in her own reality show and has been performing in Las Vegas for awhile.

Lady Gaga isn't wearing any especially ridiculous hats, nor is she crawling out of an egg on stage, but the singer has still managed to shock fans with the get-up she's donning in a just-released fansite photo:
Her birthday suit.
The artist is as naked as it gets in the following picture, which she posted to LittleMonsters.com and which includes the caption: "Resting after Barney's Gaga
Workshop opening in NY."
Well, sure. Isn't this how we all rest?
Gaga has never been shy about her nude form.
She appears that way in a new ad for the fragrance Fame and also on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Elsewhere, Gaga recently landed he first film role as La Chameleon in director Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills. She's even featured on a poster for the action thriller.
